We had a fantastic week away in Newcastle! Partly we were there so that Alex could look around the university and partly just for a good time touring this lovely city. This episode is a compilation of things we did; we discuss northern people, sights to see and tips for long journeys.
Due to the recent discoveries Alex tries to explain gravity waves to Hamish; from general relativity to the merging of black holes. We also discuss traveling and the joys of a skiing holiday in the snow.
As Valentines Day is coming up we have dedicated this episode to it. What can single people do to enjoy it? What gifts are good ideas, and do people still send anonymous letters?
We talk about Terry Wogan, especially his hilarious Janet and John stories which can be found by clicking the link. We also find time to mention penises, Pot Noodle and Alex's favourite song from the week, Catapult by Jack Savoretti.
Alex is very excited about the possibility of a new planet in the Solar System, Hamish plays in the snow plus other exciting things from the week we've had.
Our friend Haopeng is our guest in this episode where we discuss tetraphobia, buses and what we think university life is like.
